Karma Kids Dance!
It's never too early to start dancing! Our unique and fun approach to dance focuses on building physical strength and flexibility, focus and attention, body awareness, confidence and self-esteem, and a love for dance! Karma Kids Dance classes will help kids become more confident movers and dancers at any age, whether they want to dance forever or just for fun. Our session will culminate in a recital for family and friends, featuring dances learned in class.
Available for preschool and elementary school programs.
Tiny Dancers (2 - 3 yrs): These classes for 'tiny dancers' will incorporate elements of ballet, jazz and creative movement to build confidence, strength and flexibility in your little ones. We will practice our tiny tendues and petite pliés, experiment moving our bodies in different ways - fast and slow, high and low, and movin' and groovin' to fun dance beats. In each class we will work on a choregraphed dance for our Tiny Dancer Recital!
Flash Dancers (4 - 6 yrs): What a feeling! Kids will sample many different dance styles in this class, including ballet, modern and jazz. These active classes will strengthen growing muscles (including the brain) with floor work, while balancing postures will help improve coordination as these Flash Dancers learn more technical dance skills. Week after week we'll expand our dance vocabulary, ultimately leading up to the creation and presentation of a dance at the end of the session.
Movers & Shakers (7 - 10 yrs): We like to move it, move it! This class will allow young movers and shakers to express themselves on the dance floor. Dancers will learn longer choreographed sequences and will experiment with improvisation and partnering. Focus will be on confidence building, expanding our dance vocabulary, and having fun! In each class we will work together to co-create our dance performance for the recital.
